Hey all! Hope you're enjoying my new digs. Got some new classes coming up and stayed tuned for a Beginning Scrapbook Class coming up in May.

Both of these classes will be at Scrapbook Buddies in Temple City. You can sign up in the store or over the phone with a credit card at (626) 286-2846. The price includes all of the paper and embellishments you will need to complete the project. You just need to bring your adhesive and scissors.

All You Need is Love Class
May 3, 2011

This is a wall hanging that is done on an artist's canvas using paper from Bo Bunny's new Gabrielle line. You'll learn how to distress paper and create flowers using paper from a dictionary. This class will be on Tuesday, May 3 from 6:30-8:00pm and costs $16.00.

A Pocket Full of Sunshine Class
May 15, 2011

After I made this page I kept commenting to my husband how much I love the colors in this layout. Then he reminded me that I should like them because they were our wedding colors.

Duh.

Anyways, this class will be on Sunday, May 15 from 2:00-3:30 and it's only $9! You'll learn how to use glimmer mist with a stencil and how to make some dimensional flowers. For those of you who like two page layouts, I also made this layout that can be purchased after the class as a kit.

Made with Love

I am an incredibly indecisive person. So when it came to planning my wedding I kind of drove myself crazy. It was hard for me to grasp that this would be the only time I would be choosing a dress or flowers or a location. I didn't want to make any bad choices.

When it came time to choose my dress I was almost in agony. By my wedding day I had gone through THREE (you read that correctly) wedding dresses. As in I paid for and picked up three different dresses. When I put on the third (and last) dress almost exactly one month before my wedding (yes, seriously) I knew it was made for me.

When it came to my veil I was surprisingly decisive. Since I was a little girl I knew that I wanted my mom to make it. When I did price a couple I had serious sticker shock and it solidified my decision. However, my mom and I were at serious odds. I pictured myself in a Mantilla style veil with beautiful alencon lace. My mom was convinced that style wouldn't fit the style of my dress. So she made two. Her veil and my veil.

I was a two veil bride.

In the end we both decided that my design did in fact work. The fact that on my wedding day I had a piece of my mom with me was very heartwarming and something that I will forever treasure. When I found this sewing themed paper by My Little Shoebox I knew I had to have it. I've been so focused on creating classes and completing challenges that I haven't really scrapped anything for myself. At a crop last week I was determined to finish something that would be just for me.

Let's Par-tay!

Ahhhh birthdays. I have never been one to dread becoming another year older. In fact, I like to make my entire birthday month a sort of "Beckysbirthdaymonthextravaganza!"

Birthday Pizooki all for me!
I've got a new class coming up before I take a short hiatus. I've been called to perform my civic duty (a.k.a jury duty) so I don't have much scheduled just in case I should get called in. This class will be on Wednesday, April 20 from 6:30-8:00 pm at Scrapbook Buddies in Temple City.

Acrylic albums are fun to work with. You can use it just as a standard album and cover the entire page or play with dimension. We will be doing both in this class! We will also talk about some other things to consider with acrylic albums such as which adhesives work best and how to place your pictures.

This 6x6 paper pad by Best Creation is super bright and fun! Call (626) 286-2846 to sign up over the phone. The cost of this class is $16 and includes all of the paper, ribbon, rings, and album. For this class it will be very important that you have Scrappy Glue or a scrapbooking glue pen that dries clear. I can help you find these items before class.

Hope to see you there!
